Using a Bee Bot Robot in Your Classroom
At Della Larsen’s class we use robotics and coding to teach critical thinking skills. Bee Bots and Blue Bots provide an opportunity for our youngest learners to begin programming and coding.
A Bee Bot is a small programmable robot. The robot moves a specific distance with every push of a button. The robot goes forward, back, left and right. The possibilities for coding with kids are endless. When you use a robot in your classroom, you can literally see the wheels turning in kids’ heads. Kids solve complex problems using robotics. So it makes perfect sense to use robotics to teach kids…..everything.
Kindergarten is the perfect time to start coding with kids. The students are completely engaged and excited to use a new type of technology. Even your most reluctant students become engaged when you bring out Bee Bots.
If you are looking for resources for Bee Bots, I am adding to my list every month. Whether you are teaching literacy, math, non-fiction, or even life cycles. We have a mat for you.
